Metallic Mesh for Aquaculture

Our metal meshes for aquaculture provide an integral solution by developing two simultaneous functions: fish farming and fish protection (fish and anti-predator meshes). Our designs allow the development of pre-fattening, fattening or both in the same mesh, being this same mesh always anti-predator; 3 functions in the same solution, thus simplifying the operation and production of fish with the consequent reduction of production costs.

This translates, for example, into the use of a single mesh for the entire salmon farming cycle. We also have other designs, either to perform only the fattening of the farming and as an anti-predator, 2 functions in 1 or for our mesh to fulfill only the function as an anti-predator. These last solutions are used in fish farming centers as well as in fish breeding, stocking and/or harvesting centers.

Among the properties of these meshes, the safety of the crop biomass stands out, given its high resistance to breakage and abrasion, being suitable for working in high-energy dynamic environments; it provides structural cohesion to the raft-cage production unit in storm situations, as well as in an inshore coastal environment.

Likewise, they provide effective protection against predators, such as sea lions and sharks. They have low deformation in case of underwater currents, thus allowing low real farming densities – reducing stress – excellent oxygenation, maintaining optimal environmental conditions in the farm, providing high levels of welfare to the fish. It is also important to point out the long useful life of the meshes, their contribution to the reduction of the carbon footprint and the fact that they are 100% recyclable products, thus integrated into the circular economy. Among the fish raised in our meshes we have: salmon, Cobia, Seriola, Dorado, Sea Bass, Barramundi, Tilapia and Grouper.
